What type of batteries should I use with a wind turbine or solar panel? You should use Deep Cycle Lead Acid or Gel batteries. Do not use normal car batteries as they won't last much longer than six months. Deep Cycle batteries can stand up to the deep cycles of being flattened much more than normal car batteries which do not like to be emptied any less than 80%.
